Applicants must possess a National Senior Certificate as a minimum entry requirement.

Prior experience or background in counselling is advantageous but not mandatory.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • A certified copy of their ID and highest academic qualification
  • Proof of payment for the non-refundable application fee (R200) and registration fee (R500)

The total course fee is R27 078, payable in monthly instalments of R1 099.08

Please note that both the registration and application fees are non-refundable

The programme spans 2 years (24 months).

We offer two intakes per year:

This course is accredited by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and is registered under the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO)

Graduates are eligible to register as Christian Lay Counsellors with the Council for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC) under ACRP.

About us

Excel Christian Counselling (Pty) Ltd was founded in 2022 by Dr. Ernrich F. Basson. It was established to provide affordable and accessible counselling education across South Africa, particularly for those with limited access to tertiary education. ECC aims to train qualified and capable Christian lay counsellors through SAQA-registered qualifications. The institution addresses a gap in lower-level and accessible programs for church-based counsellors across diverse denominations, cultures, and generations. ECC’s mission is to offer high-quality, ethical, and value-driven training.
